ABE Growers Program

The ABE Growers Program does not require farmers to have a fixed minimum acreage. Growers may be considered based on the suitability of their land for African Bird’s Eye Chilli production, their ability to maintain the crop, and their willingness to follow the program’s production and quality requirements.

Both small-scale and larger growers may be considered. Land suitability and production readiness are assessed as part of the onboarding process.

Growers participating in the ABE Growers Program are expected to:

• Maintain suitable land for African Bird’s Eye Chilli production
• Follow agreed production and crop-management guidance
• Maintain consistent crop care throughout the growing cycle
• Follow agreed quality, harvesting and handling requirements
• Allow appropriate production monitoring and field follow-up
• Work collaboratively with the program to support consistent, export-focused production

1. Submit an application – Interested growers provide their basic contact, farm and production information through the ABE Growers Program.
2. Initial review – The program reviews the information provided and assesses the grower’s general suitability for participation.
3. Farm assessment and discussion – Suitable applicants may be contacted for additional information and an assessment of their land and production readiness.
4. Onboarding and production planning – Approved growers are guided through the next steps for joining the program and preparing for production.
